At NeuroBalance Integrated Health Foundation Ltd, we support adults (18+) to return to work safely or re-enter employment after a break related to health, neurodiversity, chronic pain, mobility needs, or communication barriers. We focus on practical steps: small-step planning, building stability, and understanding what support may help you sustain employment.

Why Returning to Work Can Be Hard

Returning is often not just about “getting a job”, but about managing:

fluctuating energy, pain, symptoms, and “bad days”

sensory overload and stress

focus, organisation, and pace challenges

fear of judgement, misunderstanding, or job loss

barriers around commuting, ergonomics, communication, and accessibility

We help translate those realities into a workable plan.

How We Support Reintegration

A Small-Step Plan

We help create a realistic path without “boom-and-bust” cycles:

2–4 week goals (realistic and measurable)

gradual load and responsibility increases

“bad day” strategies to maintain continuity

simple systems for organisation and energy management

Practical Workplace Strategies

We share practical approaches, such as:

ergonomics and workstation setup

restorative breaks, pacing, energy-aware scheduling

communicating needs clearly and calmly

work patterns that often help: flexible hours, hybrid/remote options, adjusted duties

Preparing for Conversations and Documentation

We support educational preparation for:

describing needs and limitations clearly

identifying reasonable adjustments that may fit your role

short notes for conversations with managers/HR

a phased implementation plan (what helps now vs. later)

Access to Work (Information): What It Is and How It Can Help

Access to Work is a UK programme that may support people with a disability or long-term health condition to start work or stay in employment. Depending on your situation, support may cover:

equipment and workplace adaptations,

communication support,

travel to work,

specialist support (e.g., coaching/mentoring in certain areas).

Not everyone needs the same support — clearly describing your barriers and needs is key.

Who This Page Is For

Adults who:

  • are returning after a health-related break,

  • want to work but need better conditions and support,

  • are considering Access to Work and want a clear starting point,
